Bug's Restaurant - pitfall trap

What you can learn from this activity: Insects living on/in the ground. Behavior of insects caught by pitfall trap

When and where to do: Anywhere. From Spring to Fall

Materials: Pencil

Procedure: Make pitfall traps by plastic cups. Perpare several groups of traps that contains different foods such as meat, cucumber, and so on by each group. Dig small holes in the ground, and set the traps. Examine the traps on the following day, and group the caught insects by food and place. Share learnings with others.
