Let's catch butterflies, and look at how they drink nectar!
What you can learn from this activity: Ways to catch butterflies. Butterflies body and behavior.
When and where to do: Anywhere. From Spring to Fall
Materials: Insect net, insect holding container, pencil
Procedure: Go out for butterfly collecting. Besides catching, observe closely how butterflies drink nectar. Using caught butterflies, make close observation of their body, legs, wings, and so on by magnifying lens and microscope. Make variety of nectars with sugar, salt and even your own drink, and feed them. Look at carefully how butterflies drink the nectars.
